After catching her sister’s wedding bouquet, Kaitlin didn’t think she’d actually be the next to get married. Little did she know, Drew was already planning a proposal that next weekend. He made sure that with everything else, he had the bouquet she caught. “I couldn’t tell you what he said because I was so excited,” Kaitlin told us. And soon after, was surprised with pizza and a cookie cake by her whole family who was ready to celebrate with them.

Since Kaitlin had just been a part of her sister’s vintage wedding, she wanted to make sure hers was different, her own style, but was able to get going quickly after having helped her plan. She knew she wanted the glitz and glamour that a Gatsby themed wedding would bring. She imagined dramatic candelabras, chandeliers and memorabilia from that era. She even thought to have a couple of friends dressed as flappers handing out candy cigarettes!

To bring this look together, Kaitlin and Drew worked with Cynthia, at Vintage Love Rentals, from table décor, seating, lighting and linens. And they found the perfect pairing to this decor, their venue the Scottish Rite Consistory.

“We thought the Scottish Rite perfectly fit our Gatsby theme, with its grand pillars and wall sconces.” Other vendors were an easy pick after planning with her sister, they already knew they loved the florals of The English Rose and music by Complete Weddings + Events. “Spending time planning our wedding while making memories with my mom and grandma was so special. We shared a lot of laughs!”

The day was just as Kaitlin and Drew had dreamed, filled with their family and friends. The couple was thrilled with how all their vendors pulled off their big day, and felt so lucky to have so many people attend, that loved them so much.
